Editor’s note: This version adds the name of the crash victim, Robert Micheal Grimm,

Robert Micheal Grimm of Havre, 39, died in a single-vehicle crash in Philips County early Friday morning June 24.

Phillips County Coroner had not returned by printing deadline calls asking if the name of the crash victim has been released by the time this story orginally was filed, but released the name after the deadline.

Montana Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred on U.S. Highway 2 at Mile Marker 462 near Malta.

The Ford F-150 driven by the man was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 2 at 5:25 a.m. Friday when it drifted off the right side of the road and hit a delineator, the crash report said. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle reentered the highway. The pickup then went into a passenger-side skid and crossed the center line.

The vehicle rolled and entered the eastbound ditch, the report said, rolling one more time. The pickup came to rest on its wheels about 80 feet of the road in the eastbound ditch facing east. It sustained significant damage to its top and right side.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, the report said, and was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital.
