Conservation district to make determination on stream permit application for Beaver Creek

Application needed to repair flood damage; Meeting set for June 19

The Hill County Conservation District’s June board meeting has been moved to Wednesday, June 19, at 1 p.m.

Unless otherwise specified, all HCCD board meetings are held in the USDA Service Center at 206 25th Ave W. Havre.

The HCCD Board will be making a determination on a 310 stream permit application for Beaver Creek at the June meeting.

A 310 permit is required to make any modification to the banks or bed of a perennial stream in the state of Montana, District Administrator Emma Korntheuer said.

“Our recent application was for emergency work done as a result of the recent flooding on Beaver Creek,” she added. “Typical 310 projects include bridge or culvert construction or modification, pipeline drilling, erosion control projects, etc. Essentially anything that could disturb the soil on the banks or bed of a perennial waterway or otherwise affect the flow up or downstream of the project.

All HCCD meetings are open to the public, if anyone would like more information on the conservation district or the Montana Natural Streambed and Land Preservation Act (310 Law) they can contact the conservation distirct at the USDA Service Center, 406-265-6792.
