Work closes one lane on 600 Block of Third Avenue

Havre Public Works announced that work will start today on a half block on the 600 Block of Third Avenue.

The northbound lane of Third Avenue from the intersection of Third Avenue and Seventh Street on the south to approximately the middle of the block on the north will be closed while workers prepare, pour concrete, and let it cure. This closure will last an estimated two weeks and bring Third Avenue down to one lane of traffic. The department will place lighted barricades around the closure.

"Please plan accordingly as we know this may cause some delays to your travel plans," a release from the department said. "An adjustment to your schedule and travel route may be needed. In an effort to repair the road this hiccup needs to happen, though.

"We appreciate your understanding and patience while we get this done," the release said, asking people to share the information about the lane closure with others.
