Plant a Seed Celebrates Anniversary with the Imagination Library

Plant a Seed ... READ celebrates its 10th Anniversary as a nonprofit and 14 years as an affiliate with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Saturday, June 1, from 11 am.. to 2 p.m. at the Havre Holiday Village Mall. Come join this family celebration with carnival activities and Buzzing in with Bears and Books for the children. Learn more about who we are, what we do and why. We are proud to have the support from Gary and Leo's IGA as sponsor for this event and provide the free lunch.

Community members will have the opportunity to make a difference in a child's life by sponsoring a child in the Imagination Library. With your donation of $35 per year per child, your gift, your sponsored child will receive an age-appropriate book each month for a year for family members to read to them each day. What a difference this makes. For every $10 donation you donate, a ticket with be put in the drawing for a Pizzello Outdoor Pizza Oven. All proceeds for this event will go towards enrolling children that reside in Hill County in the Imagination Library. We have 1387 children under the age of 5 that are eligible to receive these books. Currently only 470 are enrolled. Since January, 2024, children have graduated from the program.

Wonderful prizes have been donated for raffles. If you are unable to attend the event, you may purchase tickets for the raffles at the Plant a Seed office, space 31 next door to Miracle Ear today, Thursday, May 30, or Friday, May 31.

"We look forward to meeting with you at the celebration and getting feedback how we can serve Hill County and our youngest learners so they are ready for school" Director Lorraine Verploegen said.
