Wednesday, May 8

A caller on Second Street West reported at 6:39 a.m. that a car had been stolen.

A 6:47 a.m. caller on Second Street reported that it looked like two unoccupied vehicles had just been hit.

A 1:05 p.m. caller at Havre High School reported a juvenile in the building who doesn't attend Havre High.

Officers investigated a 1:58 p.m. report from Child Protection Services.

A 2:37 p.m. call from 13th Street about a speed limit sign that had been knocked down was referred to Havre Public Works.

Officers investigated a 3:08 p.m. report from the post officer of while powder.

Charles Glynn Plante of Havre, 46, was arrested on eight Justice or City court warrants after Blaine County Sheriff's Office asked at 5:27 p.m. for assistance with a man at the hospital.

Several dogs were reported running loose throughout the day Wednesday.

Thursday, May 9

Thomas, James Kipp Jones of Havre, 24, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant after a First Street caller reported suspicious activity with an ex at 2:10 a.m.

Officers opened an investigation after a Havre area caller asked at 9:30 a.m. for assistance.

A summons was issued after an 11:55 a.m. caller at Havre High School reported a juvenile with a vape device.

A summons was issued after a caller at the hospital reported two people attempting to steal items at 1 p.m.

Gene William Liese of Havre, 35, was arrested on a pick up and hold order and a charge of driving under the influence after a caller at the probation and parole office asked for assistance at 3:42 p.m.

A vehicle crash was reported at 4:39 p.m. on First Street.

A 16-year-old was issued a summons on charges of minor in possession and juvenile curfew violation after an 11:57 p.m. caller on First Street West reported their juvenile daughter had run away.

Friday, May 10

A written or verbal warning was issued after a 2:11 a.m. noise complaint was made on 12th Avenue.

A written or verbal warning was issued after a 10:03 a.m. caller on Beaver Creek Boulevard reported barking dogs.

Officers were asked at 10:42 a.m. to assist a large load through town on U.S. Highway 2.

Saturday, May 11

A 13th Street caller at 2:24 a.m. reported a complaint that officers investigated.

Officers investigated a domestic disturbance reported on 13th Avenue at 6:29 a.m.

Michael Robert-Louis Belcourt of Havre, 34, was arrested on a partner or family member assault charge after a Second Street caller reported at 8:46 a.m. that family members were fighting.

Officers opened an investigation while assisting an ambulance crew at 9:35 a.m. on a medical call on 14th Street.

--

An 11:40 a.m. caller at a First Street business reported that a customer left without paying their bill.

Thomas James Jones of Havre, 39, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant after a caller at Second Street and Fourth Avenue reported a couple fighting at 2:56 p.m.

Officers investigated a 4:50 p.m. report of men fighting on Second Street.

Atraeu Jacob Belcourt of Great Falls, 32, was arrested on charges of trespass to property, two counts of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault after a belligerent man was reported at 5:44 p.m at the hospital.

Acoya Nathan Gopher of Box Elder, 26, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, trespass to property, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest after a caller at a First Street business reported a man following three women at 10:20 p.m.

Sunday, May 12

A written or verbal warning was issued after a Second Street caller reported at 12:32 a.m. that a group of people got out of a car and started fighting.

Justin Alan Shafer of Havre, 50, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after an erratic driver was reported on 13th Street at 3:14 a.m.

A 17-year-old was issued a summons on charges of DUI, obstructing a peace officer or other public servant, possession of toxic substances and minor in possession after a caller at a First Street West business asked at 8:58 a.m. for officers to perform a welfare check on someone.

A 15-year-old was issued a summons on a charge of MIP after a physical and verbal disturbance was reported at 1:46 p.m. on Third Avenue.

--

A written or verbal warning was issued after a man was reported sleeping on a bench in front of a Second Avenue business at 3:45 p.m.

Tysen George Richan of Havre, 19, was arrested on charges of partner or family member assault and MIP after an 8:08 p.m. caller on Land Drive reported a fight in progress.

An Eighth Street caller reported at 8:16 p.m. that a window had been broken out of the caller's vehicle.

Tia Elizabeth Watson of Box Elder, 29, was arrested on a charge of DUI and Kylee Leshay Oats of Havre, 23, was arrested on charges of obstructing a peace officer or other public servant, resisting arrest and open container after a 9:43 p.m. vehicle stop on First Street.

Monday, May 13

Aretha Ellen Martin of Havre, 48, was arrested on a trespass to property charge after a caller on Second Street Northeast reported at 8:57 a.m. someone in a residence that shouldn't be there.

Atraeu Jacob Belcourt of Great Falls, 32, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant served at 9:36 a.m. in Hill County Detention Center.

A caller on Saddle Butte Drive reported at 10:29 a.m. finding a key and fob.

A 2:47 p.m. caller with probation and parole asked for assistance with a transport.

A written or verbal warning was issued after a caller on First Street reported two women sitting outside screaming at 5:49 p.m.

Tuesday, May 14

A Fifth Street caller reported at 6:47 a.m. that a vehicle had been stolen.

Leilani Angel Whitehorse of Box Elder, 28, was arrested on a criminal contempt charge related to a 24/7 Sobriety Program violation reported at 7:08 a.m.

A citation was issued after an 8:34 a.m. caller on Saddle Butte Drive reported dogs that had been barking since around 6 a.m.

An investigation was opened at 8:51 a.m. over the 10:54 p.m. Monday report of a damaged traffic light at First Street and Fourth Avenue.

A written or verbal warning was issued after officers were flagged down at 10:55 a.m. by the manager of a multi-occupancy residence on First Street Northeast, who reported annoying phone calls.

Lester Tyrel Skramstad of Havre, 33, was arrested on three Justice or City court warrants served at 11th Street West and Washington Avenue at 12:29 p.m.

Leona Marie Chiefstick of Box Elder, 57, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after officers assisted with an ambulance call on First Street at 11:26 p.m.

Wednesday, May 8

An 8:04 a.m. caller reported cows out near the road south of Gildford.

Deputies opened and investigation after a caller at Las Vegas Metro asked at 12:28 p.m. for assistance.

--

A wallet was reported at 8:18 p.m. lost at a U.S. Highway 2 West businsess.

--

Bradley Lynn Perkins of Havre, 25, was arrested on a state District Court warrant and four Justice or City court warrants after the warrants were served on Seventh Street East at 9:22 p.m.

Thursday, May 9

An 8:59 a.m. report of a telephone pole leaning north of Box Elder was referred to another agency.

Shannon Tyler of Havre, 36, was arrested on a state District Court warrant served at Hill County Detention Center at 1:58 p.m.

--

Deputies investigated a disturbance reported at 5:27 p.m. on 11th Street North.

Atraeu Jacob Belcourt of Great Falls, 32, was arrested on charges of DUI, and driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license and Tesla Rose Hoops of Harlem, 33, was arrested on two Justice or City court warrants during a vehicle stop on Second Street at 9:01 p.m.

Friday, May 10

Tyson Rondo Gruber of Havre, 32, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant at 1:12 p.m. served at Hill County Detention Center.

Shannon Tyler of Havre, 36, was arrested on two Justice or City court warrants served at 3: 28 p.m. at the detention center.

--

A caller at a U.S. Highway 2 West business reported at 6:17 p.m. that a woman took a cart full of merchandise and started driving west.

Deputies were asked at 9:09 p.m. to assisted Havre police with a call on Smithville Road.

--

A 9:20 p.m. report of a vehicle hitting a deer on U.S. Highway 2 East was referred to Montana Highway Patrol, who reported that no injuries were incurred in the crash.

Saturday, May 11

A 9:50 p.m. caller reported that the bartender at a Box Elder establishment had been robbed about 30 minutes prior.

Sunday, May 12

A written or verbal warning was issued after a caller at a U.S. Highway 2 West business reported a complaint at 4:31 p.m.

Deputies assisted with an 8:36 p.m. call south of Inverness.

Monday, May 13

A caller on Old Post Road reported at 1:48 p.m. that windows were broken out of a camper.

Deputies were asked at 4:24 p.m. to assist another agency on 10th Street West.

Tuesday, May 14

Sheriff's office dispatch log reported no arrests, investigations, summonses or written or verbal warnings issued from midnight Tuesday to Wednesday at 6 a.m. According to a press release from Hill County Sheriff's Office, deputies were asked at approximately 12:30 a.m. to assist Rocky Boy police with a vehicle pursuit of a person firing a gun at officers. The pursuit ended on Fresno Road South near U.S. Highway 87 with deputies shooting a suspect. See Page 1 for further details provided by Hill County Sheriff's Office.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to four calls Wednesday, May 8; four calls Thursday, May 9; two calls Friday, May 10; five calls Saturday, May 11; three calls Sunday, May 12; one call Monday, May 13; eight calls Tuesday, May 14; and one call early the morning of Wednesday, May 15.

Firefighter responded at 7:41 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, to a fire alarm on the 800 Block of Fourth Street that turned out to be set off by steam.

--

Firefighters responded to two calls Thursday, May 9, the first call to the 100 Block of First Street West at 12:55 p.m. was canceled en route and the second, accompanied by an ambulance crew, for a child caught in a swing at Patterson Park at 9:06 p.m., was cancel after a responding officer was able to remove the child from the swing.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the hospital sometime Saturday, May 11, and Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage said this was a false alarm.

--

Firefighters responded Sunday, May 12, to a report of a fuse blown out on a power pole, but no further details were made available on the incident.

Havre Animal Shelter

The animal shelter Wednesday morning held two cats and an 11-week-old kitten.

--

The shelter also held a female pit bull, two male mixed-breed dogs and a female husky-border collie cross.

Births

Twin boys were born May 9, 2024, to Mercedies Strike and Thomas Main of Fort Belknap.

A girl was born May 12 to LaTasha Shortman and Austin Vinger of Havre.
