Business Torch, Spark award applications open

BBB Foundation, the charitable arm of Better Business Bureau, announced it is now accepting applications and nominations for its regional Torch Awards for Ethics and Spark Awards for Entrepreneurship programs.

Businesses of every size based in Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Western Wyoming and Central Colorado are invited to apply for BBB Foundation’s annual awards recognizing marketplace role models. Customers are also encouraged to nominate businesses in these communities they find most trustworthy and deserving of the awards.

“The Torch Awards and Spark Awards are a celebration of businesses that are committed to operating ethically and with integrity,” said Tyler Andrew, president and CEO of BBB Foundation. “Applying for and then earning these honors is a true confirmation of a business’s success building trust with its employees, customers and communities.”

The Torch Awards for Ethics, presented by Bridge City Law, recognizes trustworthy organizations that make an outstanding commitment to their character, culture, customers, and community. Honorees of this program are businesses operating for three years or more.

The Spark Awards for Entrepreneurship honors remarkable entrepreneurs and new businesses in our community. Honorees of this program are businesses that have been operating for three years or less, or businesses with owners aged 35 or younger.

Local businesses of every size are encouraged to apply for these awards honoring marketplace integrity. Spark Awards applications are due by June 23 and Torch Awards applications are due by July 21. BBB Accreditation is not required.
