Montana Actors' Theatre premieres its youth production of the story of a man who explored the Colorado River, including through the Grand Canyon, in four small boats starting in 1968.
"Prepare for an unforgettable theatrical experience that will take you on a thrilling voyage," a release from MAT says. "'Men on Boats is' more than just a play; it's an exploration of courage, camaraderie and the uncharted waters of the human spirit."

The release said the play, written by Jaclyn Backhaus, brings to life the daring 1869 journey of Powell and his crew through the uncharted American West.
"'Men on Boats' - where the stage becomes a river, the actors become explorers, and the audience becomes part of the expedition," it adds. Don't miss the chance to be a part of this daring journey into the heart of the American frontier."
The play premiers tonight at 7 p.m. in Cowan Hall's Little Theatre at Montana State University Doors and Backstage Lounge open one half hour before show begins.
It continues with 7 p.m. showings with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Thursday through Saturday, May 16-18, next week.
The costs are: Adults $10, students/seniors/military $8, children under 12 $5.
Northern students gain free admission with a valid student ID.
