Another home meet, another clean sweep for the Havre High track and field teams.
On Saturday, the Blue Pony girls won the Havre Lions Invite at the Havre Middle School Track with 150 points, while the Havre boys scored 111 points to also win the final home meet of the 2024 season.
In the boys meet, Brayden Kimblerling took second for the Ponies in the 100 meters, as well as second in the 200. Ciaran Courtnage also finished sixth in the 200. In the 400, Havre went 4-6, as Trayden Riley was fourth, followed b y Rhett Wertheimer and Shane Patacsil. The Ponies got a gold medal from Caleb Tomac in the 800, while Zack May was fifth and Mason Gregoire was sixth. Gregoire also won the 1,600 and Jayvon Bigknife was second, while Tomac won the 3,200 in his final home meet. Jacob Herring added a win for the Ponies in the 300 hurdles, while Ciaran Courtnage was second in the 110 hurdles. The Ponies also won both relay races.
In the field, Tommy Lewis got a third place for the Ponies in the shot put, while Ethan Boucher was sixth in the javelin and Teegan Solomon was fifth in the pole vault.
The Havre girls crushed the field Saturday, with Kaydence Reiter and Macy Brandon going 1-2 in the 100 meters, and the 200. In this distance races, Ashlyn Ford was first and Hailey Gingery third in the 800, while they went 1-2 in the 1,600 and Gracie Shandorf was fifth in the 3,200. Kyanna Jarvis finished second for Havre in the 100 hurdles, while the Ponies swept the relay races.
In the field, Macee May took third in the long jump, while she won the triple jump, and Jarvis took gold in the high jump, as did Taylor Leeds in the pole vault. Madelynn Connor gave Havre a third in fourth place in the shot put, while Roma Gum was third in the javelin and fourth in the discus.
The Blue Ponies will travel to Polson this Saturday for the final meet of the regular season.
