Havre Police Department

A written or verbal warning was issued after a Monday 8:31 a.m. caller at a Fourth Avenue business reported an unknown vehicle parked next to the building.

An arrest was made after a 3:33 p.m. Monday vehicle stop on First Street. No details on charges were provided in the dispatch log, but Teyah Rose Russette, who was named as an involved party, was listed in this morning’s jail roster as being held on a charge of partner or family member assault.

Written or verbal warnings were issued after a man was reported Monday at 5:06 p.m. on First Street intoxicated and bothering people and at 8:15 p.m. passed out behind a store on First Street.

Malcolm David Mitchell of Box Elder, 26, was issued a summons on a criminal contempt charge related to a 24/7 Sobriety Program violation reported at the police station Monday at 8 p.m.

Officers investigated a disturbance on Ninth Avenue where a 1:31 a.m. caller today reported a man outside yelling.

Hill County Sheriff’s Office

Deputies made an arrest on a warrant served at Hill County Detention Center at 4:50 a.m. today. No details on charges were provided.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded three calls Monday.

Firefighters responded to a grass fire on the BNSF Railway tracks near the 5000 Block of U.S. Highway 2 West at 2:52 p.m. Monday. Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage said the fire, caused by maintenance work being conducted on the tracks, was in an area of grass and brush. It was contained to 2.5 acres. No one was hurt, and no property was damaged beyond burned vegetation. The department, he added, responded with three engines and 11 personnel and were assisted by BNSF and Patrick Construction employees.

Firefighters responded to a 7:27 p.m. Monday fire call on the 100 Block of Cowan Drive where, Courtnage said, the fire crew found smoldering cardboard boxes in a fenced area next to a building on the Montana State University-Northern campus. No property was damaged and the cause of the incident is under investigation.

Havre Animal Shelter

The animal shelter this morning held one male pit bull terrier.
