Havre High track and softball teams right back at it

With spring weather looking better, the Havre High track and softball teams will hit the road for the final weekend of April.

The Blue Pony track teams will be at a meet in East Helena Saturday, where the Ponies will see some Southwest A powers, as well as many Class B and C schools.

Havre head coach Kari Filius' teams have been thriving, having swept several meets recently, and the Havre girls having won four meets in a row. The HHS girls are spurred on by sprinters like Kayden Reiter and Macy Brandon, while Kyanna Jarvis and Macee May both had a big week last week.

On the boys side, Havre's sprinters are heating up, as are distance runners Caleb Tomac and Mason Gregoire, while Tommy Lewis continues to impress in the throws.

Equally impressive is the Blue Pony softball team, which brings a 7-4 record into this weekend's tournament in Frenchtown.

Led by star pitcher Elle Verploegen, as well as catcher and standout hitter Camille Keeley, the Ponies will see some great competition in Frenchtown. Today, Havre will battle defending state champion Columbia Falls, as well as Ronan, and on Saturday, Havre will face off agains Dillon and Hamilton.

The competition for both the Pony softball and track teams will be big as Havre heads into he final month of the 2024 season.
