HHS tennis, track back in action this weekend

The Havre High tennis and track teams will return to competition this weekend, weather permitting.

The Blue Pony boys and girls track teams are scheduled to travel to Laurel for the Laurel Invitational. The meet will feature a large portion of the Eastern A, as well as area schools from Class B and C. The Laurel Invite will provide some great competition for the Blue Ponies, who are coming off back-to-back wins last week.

Both the Havre High boys and girls teams swept titles at the Cal Wearley Invitational and the Havre Invitational last week. The Ponies are getting great contributions on the track and in the field, as well as both teams dominating the relay events.

Meanwhile, the Havre High tennis teams are coming off the toughest weekend of their season thus far, when the Ponies played four star-studded Class A squads at last week's Cut Bank Class A Invite.

Now, the Ponies will head to Lewistown to battle Northeast A rival Lewistown this Saturday. The trip to Fergus was an add to the Havre schedule as both the Ponies and Eagles had been competing in the Hardin Invitational until this season.

Blue Pony head coach Jeff Miller's team is about to enter the busiest portion of their schedule, as the Ponies will travel to two-day events in Glendive, Billings and Miles City to finish the regular season. Havre will also take on Great Falls High and CMR next Tuesday.
