Ponies down Glasgow on the diamond

The Havre High softball team didn't take long to get back to its winning ways.

On Tuesday, the Blue Ponies took on the Glasgow Scotties, and came away with a 10-0 shutout win at the Sixth Avenue Memorial Field in Havre.

As usual, Elle Verploegen was outstanding in the circle for the Ponies as she struck out 13 Scotties on her way to a 4-hit shutout victory.

Havre was equally as good at the plate.

Camille Keeley and Ainsley Courtnage belted homeruns for the Ponies, while Jersi Morse had a pair of hits and two RBIs. Rachel Jette also had two base hits as Havre clobbered 16 hits on the day, as the Class B Scotties struggled to contain Havre's offense.

The win pushed Havre to 5-3 on the season, and was a good bounce back for head coach Tony Vigliotti's team after tough outings in Lewistown last weekend.

Now, the Ponies will get back to action in the Eastern A when they play at Sidney Friday night and at Glendale Saturday.
