With a focus on poetry, but with opportunities for fiction and memoir expression, people can join Havre poet and Montana Book Award winner Charles Finn as he takes them on a fun, relaxed and encouraging six-week journey exploring how to put down in words what they’ve always wanted to say.
Geared especially to people who say “I can’t write” this gently guided, generative workshop will provide the tools needed to help participants tell their own story in their own words.
This class is specifically designed to meet the needs of adult learners aged 60 and over and is offered free of charge through a partnership between the Montana Arts Council and the Montana State Library, with funding support from the Lifetime Arts’ Western States Leading Creative Aging initiative.
No writing experience is necessary, only the willingness to share and be heard. The workshop will culminate with a public event to share work with family, friends and the community.
The event is offered at Havre-Hill County Library, 402 Third St., Tuesday from 10-11:30 a.m. April 9 through May 14. People can sign up in person or call 406-265-2123.
