Jean Louise Armstrong, 90, passed away at the Care and Comfort Home in Havre Tuesday, March 26, 2024, of natural causes.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Van Orsdel Methodist Church with Pastor Susan King officiating. Her burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Havre where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, William.
Memorial contributions in Jean's honor may be made to the Care and Comfort Home 607 4th Street Havre, Montana 59501.

Jean was born January 2, 1934, in Fromberg, Montana, to Carl and Grace (Shoop) Joppa. She was raised and educated in Fromberg, Montana, where she graduated from high school.
She met William "Bill" Armstrong while attending college at Montana State University in Bozeman. The couple married in Fromberg, Montana on March 27, 1955. They made their home in Chinook, where Bill worked for the Blaine County Soil Conservation District. The family moved to Havre in 1964, when Bill was transferred to work at the Hill County Soil Conservation Office.
Jean spent most of her life taking care of her family and raising her six children. She worked at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, Deaconess Hospital and spent numerous years at the Northern Montana College. Jean enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
She and Bill were active in the 4-H community and enjoyed riding and hosting O-Mock-Sees and participated in numerous trail riding adventures. She and Bill worked together on their place west of Havre raising horses.
They were members of Van Orsdel United Methodist Church. They enjoyed playing cards and supporting 4-H. Jean loved to read, work in her garden, and tend to her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Armstrong, in 2005; her daughter Deborah "Debbie" Heggen; sister, Linda (Joppa) Armstrong; and brother; Leonard "Bob" Joppa.
Jean is survived by her five children, daughters Janice (Rick) Williamson and Gail (Scott) Nesslar, sons, Harold Armstrong, David (Susan) Armstrong, and Daniel Armstrong; eight grandchildren, Michelle Miller, Ryan and Dustin Armstrong, Nicholas Wagner and Cassie Heggen, Ross Williamson, Jake Nesslar and Katrina Nesslar, and 10 great-grandchildren.
