Deputies at 11:38 a.m. Friday at the detention center arrested Niles Duane Stiffarm of Hays, 32, on charges of forgery/counterfeit and theft.

Deputies at 10:01 a.m. Saturday on the 600 Block of 31st Street North investigated a burglar alarm going off. It was a false alarm.

Deputies issued a written or verbal warning after a caller from 10th Avenue North at 7:03 p.m. Sunday reported a group of kids starting fires and getting into fights," the dispatch log reported.

Emergency medical technicians responded to three calls Friday, five calls Saturday, three calls Sunday and one call this morning.

Havre firefighters investigated a report of smoke from the 800 Block of 10th Avenue North at 7:25 p.m. Sunday. The firefighters put out the fire in a smoldering burn barrel and the party involved was advised not to burn things illegally.

Havre firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 9:45 p.m. Sunday from the 800 Block of Fourth Street. Steam from a shower had set off an alarm and no fire was found.

Two female and three male 7-week-old mixed-breed puppies were being held in foster care this morning.
The shelter this morning held one male and one female 6-week-old mixed-breed puppies and 1-year-old mixed-breed dog.
The dog room this morning held a 10-week-old female mixed-breed puppy, two male and a female 12-week-old mixed-breed puppies, two female 6-month-old mixed-breed puppies, a 1-year-old female mixed-breed dog, a 2-year-old female mixed-breed dog, and a 4-year-old male mixed-breed dog.
The cat room this morning held three 7-week-old short-haired kittens of unknown gender, two male 18-week-old kittens, a 2-year-old female short-haired cat, a 2-year-old male short-haired cat, two 3-year-old short-haired male cat, two 3-year-old female short-haired cat, a 3-year-old female short-haired cat and a 5-year-old short-haired female cat.
