This is how Scott summed his life up ... his life-altering events, as he put it:

"I have lived all over the world and it's been a party. Watching both of my daughters being born. Being on duty in the Army and knocking a chunk off the Berlin wall and bringing it home. Meeting my two grandsons for the first time. Succeeding when my whole family said it wouldn't work over and over (laughing emoji). The tragedy of losing loved ones. Driving well over 200 mph. (sunglasses emoji). Meeting the three biggest loves of my life and being able to share time with them. Getting old, gray and sore but taking comfort in the knowledge of it all being well earned. (thumbs up emoji)"

Scott always had a joke to tell, and he was an upbeat and happy person. He lived his life by the seat of his pants.

Scott's best friend in the whole world was his dog, Harley. He adopted him when he was a baby, and they were best friends until Harley passed away in 2018. The dog could not have had a better life.

Scott is survived by his two daughters, Amber Emerick and Lexi Alvagaard; his three grandchildren, Ben, Colin, and Jack; his sisters Vickie (John) Fogelsong and Tammy (Chris) Kemmer; his brothers Butch (Tami) Duncan and Paul (Pete) Barrows; his nieces and nephews, Lynette Holzer, Billie Nelson, Karlee Rink, Logan Omlie, and Taran Duncan; and his aunt, Joan Lamey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Irene Gorman; his sisters Linda Hindman and Sharon Staples; and his brothers Wes and Gary Gorman.

Fly high Jimmy, and eat all the ice cream you want.
