Havre 19U girls compete at state

The Montana Amateur Hockey Association postseason has arrived and last weekend, the Havre Ice Hawks 19U girls team played at their state tournament.

The tournament took place in Glasgow, where the Ice Hawks went 0-3 in pool play, before going 1-1 in the bracket round.

Havre opened the tournament with a 6-0 loss to Missoula Friday. The Ice Hawks also fell to Bozeman 4-2 Friday, as Jersi Morse scored a pair of goals for Havre, while Paisley Branden stopped 53 shots.

On Saturday, the Ice Hawks also fell to Flathead 2-3 in a tough game. Heather Herring and Frances Hansen scored goals for the Ice Hawks in the close game.

Havre then moved on to defeat Great Falls, 8-1 Saturday. Allix Holt, Heather Herring, Ashlynn Matakis, and Brooklyn Morse all found the back of the net for the Ice Hawks, while Branden stopped 19 of 20 Great Falls shots.

In Havre's final game of the season, the Ice Hawks dropped a 4-1 decision to Flathead on Sunday. Isabelle Foster scored Havre's lone goal as the Ice Hawks wrapped up their season.

The Havre team was composed of Brooklyn Morse, Danielle Kovacich, Kayla Hobbs, Moriah Steinmetz, Foster, Herring, Branden, Kylee Mcnew, Clara Holland, Hanson, Natalie Hobbs, Jersi Morse, Matakis, Holt, Carley Ryan and Rosalyn Wendland.
