It all comes down to the last two road games for the Montana State University-Northern basketball teams as this weekend marks the end of the Frontier Conference regular season.
Northern will be in Great Falls tonight to take on the University of Providence, then head to Helena for a season-ending doubleheader at Carroll College Saturday.
And both MSU-N teams are still battling for seeding in the upcoming Frontier Tournament.
The Skylights (5-8, 11-15) of head coach Chris Mouat, have a chance to move into third place in the league standings heading into the league tournament. But, they'll be taking on the top two teams in the league, as the Argos are ranked 14th in the NAIA, and the Saints, led by former Havre Blue Pony Kyndall Keller, are ranked No. 8.
Still, Northern has played well this winter, and is getting great contributions from the likes of Jalen Callander and Savanah Toms, among many others.
Meanwhile, the Lights (3-10, 11-15) are in a dead heat with Rocky Mountain College to avoid last place in the final league standings. For Northern to make sure that it moves up in the final standings, the Lights will need a big weekend from leading scorers Zackry Martinez and Dae'Kwon Watson, while Jacob Randall has also really stepped up as late.
The Lights will also be looking to avenge some close losses to both the Argos and Fighting Saints. And, they'll look to play spoiler in the process, as the Argos are currently in third place and Carroll is in second. Montana Tech already has the regular season title locked up.
Tonight, the Skylights face off against Providence at 5 in Great Falls, with the Lights and Argos to follow. On Saturday, the Skylights and Lights travel to Carroll College.
