Havre Police Department

A Havre area caller reported at 9:03 a.m. Monday a possible temporary restraining order violation.

A 10:45 a.m. Monday caller reported a sex offense in the Havre area.

A written or verbal warning was issued after a caller at a First Street business reported Monday at 11:44 p.m. a man in a black hoodie and blue jeans was looking in vehicle windows and checking the vehicle doors.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

James Lee Smith of Havre, 44, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant and a charge of resisting arrest after a vehicle stop at 65th Avenue West and Third Street West at 8:04 p.m. Monday.

James Cole Burns of Box Elder, 37, was arrested on three Justice or City court warrants and a charge of driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license after a vehicle stop on U.S. Highway 87 Monday at 10:04 p.m.

A Monday 10:29 p.m. report of a hit and run crash on Main Street East in Box Elder was referred to Montana Highway Patrol.

Dispatch received a Monday 11:44 p.m. call from a repeat caller saying armed forces were invading through Canada, and the allegation was again determined to be unfounded.

A report at 6:57 this morning that a Havre Public Schools bus had chains dragging on the pavement and creating sparks was referred to the bus garage manager who said the driver would be notified.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to four calls Monday.

Firefighters responded to an 8:26 a.m. Monday fire alarm on the 300 Block of Fourth Street. The alarm was found to have malfunctioned.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held two 9-month-old kittens and three 8-week-old kittens all of unknown gender, four female cats and three male cats.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held eight puppies between 18 and 22 weeks old and two female mixed-breed dogs. Additionally, four 18-week-old puppies were being housed off-site.
