Havre Police Department

A Fifth Street caller asked Thursday at 11:05 a.m. to speak with an officer.

A hit and run crash was reported Thursday at 3:47 p.m. on 19th Avenue West.

--

A vehicle crash was reported at 15th Street and Eighth Avenue at 4:09 p.m. Thursday. A fire crew for traffic control and an ambulance also responded.

Someone stopped at the police station Thursday at 7:07 p.m. asking to speak with an officer.

--

An 8:57 p.m. Thursday caller reported a child assaulted in the Havre area.

--

A written or verbal warning was issued after an 11th Street caller reported dogs howling.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

A Thursday 7:02 p.m. caller reported a vehicle in the ditch on U.S. Highway 87 north of the 82nd Avenue West turnoff to Fort Assinniboine.

A caller reported at 7:26 p.m. Thursday that a dead deer was in the westbound lane of U.S. Highway 2 about 1 mile east of Gildford.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to four calls Thursday, including two accompanying firefighters.

Firefighters responded to an 11:53 a.m. Thursday call to the 1300 Block of Jefferson Avenue for a report of gas odor in an apartment and people feeling ill, said Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage. No gas odor was detected, he added, and two people were examined but no one transported.

Firefighters responded to a vehicle crash on the 1500 Block of Eighth Avenue, Courtnage said, with three patients being seen, but no one requiring transport.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held two cats, two 9-month-old kittens and three 8-week-old kittens all of unknown gender, two female cats and five male cats.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held two female mixed-breed dogs and seven puppies between 19 weeks and 10 months old and. Additionally, six 17-week-old puppies were being housed off-site.
