Obituary - Jon S. Stimson

Jon S. Stimson, 59, passed away due to natural causes at his residence Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Jon's life will be held later this year.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Jon was born on April 18, 1964, in Havre to Pat and Edna (Miller) Stimson. He was raised in Havre, attending school there. After high school, he worked as a cook in various restaurants over the years, and also worked as a laborer and foreman in construction. He married his first wife, and the couple had two children together in addition to Jon helping raise her other two boys before the couple divorced.

He later married his second wife, and they had two children together before divorcing. Jon began a relationship with Lana Dramstad, and they had a son together whom they raised with Lana's first son before Lana passed away in 2018.

Jon recently began his higher education at MSU-Northern taking classes in mechanics.

Jon was a complicated man who loved his family and had a great sense of humor, but was very blunt. You always knew where you stood with him. He enjoyed camping, fishing, riding dirt bikes, hot rods, attending rock and roll concerts, listening to '80s country music and tinkering in the garage. Jon enjoyed his many remodeling projects, and he recently began beading and making dreamcatchers.

He was preceded in death by his significant other, Lana Dramstad; father, Pat Stimson; grandparents, Glen and Katherine Miller, and aunt Glenda Zemky.

Jon is survived by his children, Nicole Julian of Havre, Lance Stimson of Hungry Horse, and Brandy, Colter, and Ethan Stimson, all of Havre; stepchildren, Mike and Cory Dunning, and Bryson Robinson; four grandchildren, Lilly, Martin, Justin and Scarlett; mother, Edna Stimson of Havre; uncle, Leo Miller of Havre; aunt Marjorie McMahon of Portland ND; special friend, Michelle Tomaskie of Havre; and many friends.
