Havre basketball returns to play this weekend

After postponing their games last weekend because of the weather, the Havre High boys and girls basketball teams will finally return to play this weekend. Both teams will play Lewistown tonight at home and will then face Sidney this Friday at home.

Tonight, the HHS girls team will face off against Lewistown. The Golden Eagles head into the game with a record of 3-7 and have lost five games in a row. If the Eagles are going to compete in Havre, they will need Kiya Foran and Lexy Burnham to carry the load.

The HHS girls team will then face Sidney at home Friday to wrap up the weekend. The Eagles are off to a strong start this season with a 6-3 record and have been led by the likes of Ave Norby this year.

Heading into these two Northeast A games, the HHS girls team has a 7-1 record and is off to a 1-0 start in conference play. If the Blue Ponies are going to stay hot this weekend, they will need top players such as Amaya Jarvis and Ariana Gary to continue playing well.

The HHS boys team will also play Lewistown and Sidney at home to end the week. Lewistown comes into tonight with a record of 2-7 but is coming off a win over Sidney. The Golden Eagles will need players such as Kason Brown and Brody Jenness to step up.

The Sidney boys basketball team heads into its game against Havre with a 3-5 record and is riding a five-game losing streak. If the Eagles want to snap that streak and upset the Ponies, Braylon Difonzo, Chase Waters and Kevin Hutzenbiler will have to have strong performances.

The HHS boys team is off to a strong start with a 7-1 record and three straight victories. As the Ponies look to pick up a couple more conference wins this weekend, top players such as Tre Gary and Shane Patacsil will look to get rolling.

The HHS girls basketball team will play Lewistown tonight at 6 p.m. and will then face Sidney Friday at 5:30 p.m. with both games being played at Havre High Gymnasium.

The HHS boys basketball team will host Lewistown tonight at 7:30 p.m. and will then face Sidney at home this Friday at 4 p.m.
