Havre basketball heads to Glendive

This Saturday, both the Havre High boys and girls basketball teams will head to Glendive. With these games being conference matches in the Northeast A, both Blue Pony squads will be looking for a win to set themselves well for the postseason.

The HHS girls basketball team will first face Glendive to open the doubleheader Saturday night. The Glendive girls team enters the meeting with a record of 3-5. The Red Devils will be led by Codi Nagle, who is averaging 13.4 points a game on 40 percent shooting this season.

The Ponies enter the game with a record of 7-1 and are already off to a 1-0 start in the Northeast A. If the Ponies want to move to 2-0 in conference play, they will need the likes of Ariana Gary, Amaya Jarvis and Sierra Parker to continue their strong seasons this weekend.

After the girls wrap up, the HHS boys basketball team will face Glendive right after. The Glendive boys basketball team enters the game with a 2-6 record and will be looking to rely on players such as Carter Amsler and Levi Eaton.

The HHS boys basketball team is off to a strong start this season with a 7-1 record and a 1-0 mark in the Northeast A. Tre Gary has been excellent for Havre this year as he is averaging 17.8 points a game on 52.3 percent shooting from the field. Kash Keller and Shane Patacsil have also contributed this year and will look to do so again this weekend.

The HHS girls basketball team will play at Glendive this Saturday at 4 p.m. The HHS boys basketball team will then face Glendive right after at 5:30 p.m.
