Clarification - Park Board

An article on the front page of Tuesday’s edition of Havre Daily News about a Hill County Park Board meeting reported the board discussed a watershed assessment by the state that includes Beaver Creek Park and forgoing potential grants the assessment would give access to due to concerns about loss of local control. Hill County Conservation District Administrator Emma Korntheur told Havre Daily News the local assessment is not being done by the state it is being done by the Hill County Conservation District in its capacity as a local government agency. She said the district secured funding for the project at the end of last year and has started the assessment with the new year.
