Havre Police Department

Two summonses were issued after two students were reported with vape pens Wednesday at 8:49 a.m. at Havre High School. No details were provided on charges.

A caller at a Second Street business said Wednesday at 9:41 a.m. they had video for officers.

Someone stopped at the police station at 1:46 p.m. Wednesday asking for assistance.

Zale Helios Thomas of Havre, 18, was issued a summons on a charge of no driver's license and a 15-year-old boy was issued a summons on a juvenile curfew violation charge after officers initiated investigation of a vehicle parked on 11th Street West at 3:03 a.m. today.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

A caller reported a semitractor-trailer was stuck halfway up the viaduct Wednesday at 11:03 a.m.

A theft, forgery or fraud was reported by a caller at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday at a U.S. Highway 87 business.

An Eighth Avenue West caller at 6:14 a.m. today reported that a man wearing a hoodie and jeans jumped out of the ditch and the caller and another driver had to swerve their vehicles to miss him. Officers searched for but could not find the person.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to three calls Wednesday.

Firefighters, accompanied by an ambulance, responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on the 500 Block of Second Street Wednesday at 4:04 p.m., Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage said. No CO was found and the residents were advised to replace the detector's batteries.

Firefighters, accompanied by an ambulance, were called to the alley on the 900 Block of Third Avenue for a shed fire. Courtnage said the fire was contained to the shed and its contents and no one was injured. The cause of the fire was unattended discarded material, a cigarette in an ashtray, he said, adding that the structure and contents sustained significant damage, and the structure is likely a complete loss though some contents might be salvageable.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held six cats of unknown gender, two female cats, three male cats and a 21-week-old male kitten.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held 11 puppies between 17 weeks and 9 months old, and one female mixed-breed dog.
