Museum board meets to discuss plans for 2024

The H. Earl Clack Museum board members met Monday evening and talked about future plans for the museum.

The museum will be closed for the month of January, but still open for Prehistoric Passport stamps and book sales. Hours of operation have been updated on the website.

Museum and Wahkpa Chu’gn Buffalo Jump Manager Caroline Tuss talked about past and future displays.

“The traditional Christmas display was fairly popular with our relatively limited attendance, people really seemed to like it. Especially board members who visited,” Tuss said. “I do think definitely next year, I’m planning to do a slightly bigger production, with slightly better publicity, as well as a little more integration with Dinosaur Christmas.

Potential planning for a new Boy Scout display was discussed. Tuss said she intends to speak with Bill Lanier of the Scouts to further finalize plans on that project. The anniversary of the Scouts will be coming up next month, and Tuss said she expects to put together something for the occasion.

The museum has been selling books by local photographer Peggy Ray, and have seen a good amount of money flow from that, she added.

The board has an opening, and any further information regarding that position can be received by calling 406-265-4000.

The next museum board meeting will be held on Feb. 12.
