Grief Poem - Thinking Ahead

Three friends chatted, sharing sad news, they paused to pray and cry.

'Jill' lost an aunt, 'Bill's' Buddy's Dad ... they wished folks didn't die.

Jill told 'bout aunt, cookies she'd bake; sometimes, a few she's sneak!

Bill's friend, Buddy, his dad was cool, he'd climbed a Mountain peak!

Sue knew these two, her special friends; she loved 'Jill's' Auntie's 'stew'!

And Buddy's dad, a special guy, he taught his kids 'to DO!'

They chatted some about these two, whom God had just called 'home.'

Sue told them that they should rejoice: "No more on earth, they'll roam."

"Just take a moment, think 'above'; how Heaven's filled with LOVE!

God sent us here to do His work, then fly to Him above!

They giggled some, thought of deeds done, friend Sue then mentioned 'Grief.'

That praising God, will comfort[1] us, and bring us some relief.

Oh! Thank you, Sue for sharing this; we're glad that you're our friend!

You've helped us turn gray clouds to blue, on you, we can depend.

Sue told her friends to share God's love where deathbed robbed loved one;

Some other friends likewise been robbed, God's plan needs to be done.

Thank You, dear Lord, in Heaven above, someday You'll call us 'there'.

Then OFF we'll go to be with You – we'll fly to You, through 'air'!

We'll reunite with our loved ones, so glad that You're our 'DAD'!

Once there with You, You'll comfort us, to Know YOU, we're so glad!
