Bill was born June 7, 1934, in Livingston, MT, to Fred and Minnie (Chaffee) Kristensen. He was raised in Livingston, graduating from high school there. Following his school years, Bill worked as a cowboy on area ranches, a profession he simply loved. In 1959, he married Colleen Leistiko, and the couple lived in Livingston for the next several years. During that time, their twins were born and Bill began working for the railroad. They were transferred to Havre in 1971 by the railroad, and remained in Havre. Bill retired in 1991, the same year Colleen passed away.
Bill was a solitary man who enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, and wood working. He was known in the camping community for making "dog sticks." He enjoyed watching the "Big Bang Theory," "Young Sheldon," "Gunsmoke" and "Jeopardy."
He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Kristensen; son, Ronald Kristensen in 2015; parents, Fred and Minnie Kristensen; and brothers, Robert and Jim Kristensen.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Ronda (Neil) Larson of Havre; grandchildren, Brent (Amber) Larson of Laurel and Kristen (Lance Armitage) Larson of Herriman, UT; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Tyla, and Eva Jean Larson; cousin, Pat Chaffee of Havre; and several nieces and nephews.
