On Thursday night, both the Havre High boys and girls basketball teams looked to continue their hot starts to the season as they both faced Browning.
The HHS boys team had to go on the road, but it defeated Browning, 92-75, to improve to 5-1 this season. The loss dropped Browning's record this season to 3-2.
Meanwhile, the HHS girls team hosted Browning at Havre High Gymnasium. And on their home court, the Blue Ponies defeated Browning, 73-42, to move to 5-0 on the season. The Ponies raced out to an early lead to take a 21-7 lead. By halftime, the Ponies had stretched their lead to 39-19. With the big lead in the second half, the Ponies cruised to the win to stay undefeated on the young season.
With the loss, the Browning team dropped to 3-3 on the season.
Both HHS basketball teams will next play tonight against Laurel at HHS Gymnasium.
The Laurel boys team is off to a 2-3 start this year, and the girls team is coming into the game with a 2-2 record for the year.
The HHS girls basketball team will play at 4 p.m. and the HHS boys basketball team will play right after at 5:30 p.m.
