Vickie Rae Clouse "Beak" of Havre, 67, passed away December 8, 2023.
Vickie was born March 28, 1956, to Olaf and Betty Nelson. Born and raised in Havre, Montana, Vickie graduated from Havre High School class of 1974. It was there, in Havre, that she met and married the love of her life, Gregory Scott Clouse. They were married, March 22, 1980, and welcomed a son, Kris not too long after. Vickie and Greg spent a wonderful 43 years together.
Vickie went on to become a professor of biology and earth science at Montana State University-Northern where she educated and impacted many students during her tenure. Her enthusiasm and compassion for teaching was contagious to her students and colleagues. One of her students even made Vickie a plaque inscribed with the words, "Behind every student who believes in themselves is a professor who believed in them first." Her family believes the plaque sums up who Vickie was as a person and educator.
Vickie continued with her passion of dinosaurs and often took her son Kris fossil hunting. She loved all living things; however, her cats always held a special place in her heart and soul. Vickie had many hobbies, she loved landscaping, gardening, and raising and taking care of her fish.
Vickie was and is an angel sent from the Lord to Greg and Kris as a wife and mother. Vickie's love, compassion and understanding was the foundation of 43 years of a wonderful marriage and 36 years of the best mother on the planet Earth to Kris.
Survivors include her husband, Gregory Clouse of Havre; son, Kristopher Clouse of Great Falls; and sister Charlene Arneson of Alaska.
Those who have preceded Vickie in death include her parents, Olaf and Betty Nelson, a sister and her grandparents.
