Holiday events return this weekend

The holiday season continues in Havre and beyond with another series of events this coming weekend, as Christmas and the new year approach.

From 10 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, at the Blaine County Fairgrounds Commercial Building, craft and commercial vendors will be selling their wares as part of this year’s Holiday Extravaganza.

In Havre, the St. Jude Thaddeus Christmas Bazaar will be Saturday at St. Jude Parish Center 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with cookies, lefse, candy, crafts, decor and activities including a silent auction and a raffle.

A full lunch will be served at the event between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for $10, including chicken casserole, salad, dinner rolls and dessert.

For people age 60 and older the Elder Christmas Gathering will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday night at the Kills At Night Center in Hays, with soup, biscuits and bingo, along with games and live fiddle music.

At Havre High School at 2 p.m. Sunday, renowned musician Phil Aaberg will return to town with this year’s Christmas from the Hi-Line Concert, hosted by the Hi-Line Arts Council.

This year will feature more than 20 Havre High students who will perform with Aaberg.

Shows of “Puss in Boots" a comedic Christmas Panto production from Montana Actors’ Theatre, will also continue this week with performances at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Montana State University-Northern Little Theatre.
