After opening the season with the Havre Invite, the Havre High wrestling teams will look to build off of that as they prepare for their next competition. This weekend, the HHS boys wrestling team will compete in the Butte Central Mixer and the Mining City Duals in Butte while the HHS girls wrestling team will head to Kalispell for the Flathead Girls Duals and the Flathead Girls Invite.
In the Mining City Duals, other schools competing include Belgrade, Billings Skyview, Bozeman, Butte, Columbia Falls, Frenchtown, Kalispell, Great Falls CMR, Helena Capital, Missoula Sentinel and Ronan. If the Blue Ponies are going to perform well against this competition, their best wrestlers will have to build off their performances at last weekend's Havre Invite.
Wrestlers who are coming off first-place finishes last weekend include Reed Mantle, Reinhard Bold, Tommy Lewis, Pierce Caplette and Grady Haney, so they will look to wrestle well for the Ponies once again this weekend.
The Ponies have several other wrestlers who placed last weekend and will look to perform well again in Butte. Some of these wrestlers include Tristan Stygles, Carson Harris, Brandon Healy, Isaiah Otto, Tucker Stygles, Austin Velk, Max Holdorff and Mason Wilting.
Over in Kalispell, the HHS girls wrestling team will compete against schools such as Belgrade, Billings Skyview, Bozeman, Browning, Choteau, Chester-Joplin-Inverness, Columbia Falls, East Helena, Helena Capital, Lockwood, Ronan and Whitefish.
Several girls wrestlers for the Ponies are coming off strong performances at last weekend's Havre Invite. Aliyah Stiffarm had a first-place finish, and other Ponies looking to place again include Brooklyn Wilting, Poloma Padilla, Brooke Nelson and Angelina Siebanaller.
The HHS boys wrestling team will begin the Butte Central Mixer tonight at 6 p.m. and then begin the Mining City Duals this Friday at 9 a.m. The HHS girls wrestling team will begin the Flathead Girls Duals this Friday at 10 a.m. and then the Flathead Girls Invite this Saturday at 10 a.m.
