The Havre High wrestling teams will finally get their season started with the Havre Mixer and the Havre Invite this weekend, right at home at Havre High Gymnasium. As the Blue Ponies finally get on the mats this winter, they will be looking to start their season strong.
This weekend, the Ponies will compete against wrestling teams from Butte Central, Chester-Joplin-Inverness, Chinook, Cut Bank, Lewistown and Malta/Whitewater. Against this competition, the Ponies' best wrestlers will be looking to compete.
Tristan Stygles will look to start the year strong after winning an individual state championship last winter. Reinhard Bold and Matt Lemer will also look to wrestle well after placing at state last season.
Other returning wrestlers for the Ponies that will look to perform well to start the season include Reed Mantle, Landen Caplette, Mason Wilting, Tommy Lewis, Carson Harris and Pierce Caplette. The HHS girls wrestling team will see state placers such as Clara Laird and Aliyah Stiffarm compete this weekend.
As the season begins this weekend, the Ponies will look to set the tone for the rest of the year. The HHS Mixer will begin tonight at 4 p.m. at HHS Gymnasium. The HHS wrestling teams will then compete in the Havre Invitational at HHS Gymnasium this Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
