After an exciting high school football season on the Hi-Line, several local players were recognized for their play as they earned All-State and All-Conference honors.
On a Fort Benton 8-man football team that made it to the semifinals of the playoffs, several Longhorns were honored. Cade Ball, Damian Ort and Truman Giese were named All-State for their play this fall.
On the First Team All-Conference offense in Northern 8-Man, Ort was on the team as a center and Ball made the team as a running back. Giese was named Second Team All-Conference as a quarterback and his teammate Layne Wallace earned Honorable Mention All-Conference as a guard.
On the Northern 8-Man First Team All-Conference defense, Ball made the team as an outside linebacker and Ort qualified for the team as a defensive lineman. Giese made the Second Team All-Conference defense as an outside linebacker and Wallace was named Honorable Mention All-Conference as an inside linebacker.
The Harlem Wildcats were also represented on the Northern 8-Man All-Conference teams. Wide receiver Matthew Billmeyer was named First Team All-Conference while his teammate Miles Fetter was named Second Team All-Conference as a wide receiver. In Northern 8-Man, Chinook's Landen Beck earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors as a running back for the offense and as an outside linebacker for the defense.
In Northern Six-Man football, the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks had a great season thanks to the play of many great athletes. For the Hawks, Adam Grammar, Nate Nelson and Pat Dahlin all earned All-State and All-Conference honors. CJI's Ben Syrbe also earned All-Conference honors.
Big Sandy's Cooper Taylor and Lane Demontiney also earned All-State and All-Conference honors for their play this season. Their teammates Ryder Galbavy and Sam Cox were also named All-Conference for their play this season.
There were several other players from the Hi-Line who earned All-Conference honors in Northern Six-Man football. North Star was represented by Sebastien Mansfield and Carter Campbell on the team. Tracen Jilot represented Box Elder on the All-Conference team.
