Havre Police Department

Anthony Wayne Groce of Havre, 33, was arrested on a vandalism charge and a Justice or City court warrant after a Boulevard Avenue caller reported suspicious activity Wednesday at 8:47 a.m.

A written or verbal warning was issued after a 9:55 a.m. caller on 11th Street West reported a suspicious male and a 10:16 a.m. caller on Boulevard Avenue reported that a man was knocking on the caller's door.

A caller at Sunnyside Intermediate School reported at 11:14 a.m. Wednesday that they suspect a student took a marijuana gummy. Havre Police Capt. Ryan Pearson said the school resource officer is still looking into the matter, so couldn't provide more information on the incident.

Maria Rose Oppelt of Havre, 43, was arrested on a state District Court warrant served at 1:51 p.m. on 16th Avenue.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Deputies investigated suspicious activity in Box Elder reported by Rocky Boy Police at 1:26 p.m.

Deputies assisted at a fire at Eighth Avenue West and Boulevard Avenue at 3:52 p.m.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to five calls Wednesday. Tuesday's call log was still not made available.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at 8:11 a.m. Wednesday on the 900 Block of 18th Street.

Firefighters responded along with an ambulance to a vehicle fire on the 500 Block of Eighth Avenue West Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. No one was made available by print deadline to provide details on the incident, but see Page 1 for an article.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held two 6-month-old kittens and five cats all of unknown gender, three female cats, three male cats, and seven kittens between 10 weeks and 6 months old.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held five female mixed-breed dogs, 11 puppies between 11 and 18 weeks old, and a female German shepherd.
