Obituary - Delbert G. Naber

Delbert G. Naber, 82, passed away due to natural causes at Peace Hospice in Great Falls Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Delbert, fondly known as Del, was born to Fritz and Dortha Naber November 27, 1940, in Havre. He attended school in Havre and Great Falls, and then moved to Havre, working for his dad Fritz at the Gravel Pit. In Havre, he met the love of his life, Carol, on a blind date. They dated for a bit, and when Carol’s next birthday came around, it was discovered that they both had the same birthday in common. This date would later become extra special to the family when they also had a daughter, Cindy, born on the very same day. Del worked for the Hill County Road Department, taking care of Havre’s backroads.

He loved to hunt, fish, canoe, and go camping. There are many fond memories that are held dear about this loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. His family and friends will miss his kind heart, unconditional love, and stubborn streak.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Carol Naber; four children, Dorothy, Cindy, Leona and Wendy; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters Sharon Davis and Delores Mercer.

Del’s family will host a visitation from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. His funeral service, to celebrate his life, will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023, in the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral in Highland Cemetery, with a reception following the interment at the Eagles Club at 1:00 p.m.

Del’s family has suggested memorial donations be made in his memory to the Blue Horizon Camping Club, Havre Eagles Aerie #166, or the charity of the donor’s choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
