Briefs - Injuries in two crashes in Blaine County over weekend

Havre Daily News staff

Two vehicle crashes with injuries occurred in Blaine County over the holiday weekend.

Montana Highway Patrol responded at 1:41 a.m. Friday to a crash on Lodge Pole Road near Helgeson Road about three miles west of Lodge Pole. Trooper Conor Doyle said four teenagers were in the vehicle when the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle. Two of the occupants were flown to Great Falls and one was transported to Havre for medical care.

Doyle said this morning that he didn’t know the condition of the teens who required medical care. He added that the crash is still under investigation, including toxicology reports, but it appears that only one vehicle was involved in the crash and speed was a factor.

The other crash was reported at 12:38 p.m. Saturday after a single occupant of a four-wheeler crashed in a pasture east of Clear Creak Road about eight miles south of Chinook. Trooper Toby Hilty said that because the crash was an off-road vehicle in a pasture no official report was filed. He added, though, that the driver was transported to Havre for medical care, but he did not know the person’s condition.
