The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 497 and the American Legion Post 11 will be holding their yearly Veterans Day Ceremony Saturday at 11 a.m. at the VFW Memorial Wall in Town Square.
VFW Post 497 Quartermaster Dale Herd said it will be a similar program to last year, with the ceremony at the wall, with a salute and the national anthem.
After that, Herd said, the group will move to the Elks Lodge where they will hear from some guest speakers, including VFW Post 497 Commander Bill Tucker, and a representative from the Elks.
The event has always been an opportunity for veterans and their families to meet and enjoy each other’s company, and to hear about issues facing their community from guest speakers.
“Come on out and have some fellowship with the veterans in your family,” Herd said.
