Fort Belknap Indian Community Wednesday released the certified initial results of its tribal council general election held on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation Tuesday.
In the race for River Assiniboine district representative, Donald “Duck” Horn won with 178 votes. Felecia Mount Messerly received 162 votes.
The Mountain Assiniboine District election had four candidates due to three advancing when they tied for second in the primary. In that race, Randi R. Wing-Fetter won with 82 votes, while Tina R. Bierle received 63, Tyler Allen received 62 and Brian Wing received 59.
In the Assiniboine voter-only race for Assiniboine at-large representative, John A. Allen won with 358 votes while Curtis Horn received 247.
In the Assiniboine at-large race with the position elected by both tribes, George Jay Ball won with 706 votes to Tracy “Ching” King’s 672 votes.
Cecelia “Boppers” Shortman won the race for River Gros Ventre District representative with 227 votes. Dominic R. Messerly received 172 votes in that race.
In the race for the seat representing Mountain Gros Ventre District, Randall “Butch” Werk Sr. received 240 votes to win the election, while Cody Shambo received 139 votes.
The Gros Ventre-only voting race for Gros Ventre at-large representative saw Blake Stiffer win with 468 votes. Mike “Gopher” Fox received 309 votes.
And in the race for the Gros Ventre At-Large Representative with voting by both tribes, Stephen “Shelly” Fox squeaked out a victory with 694 votes to 687 votes received by Geno V. LeValdo.
