Lights, Argos meet in a Top 10 dual tonight in the Armory

It's that time. It's time for the rivalry every wrestling fan longs to see. And it's happening tonight in the Armory Gymnasium when the Montana State University-Northern Lights take on the rival Providence Argos.

As always, there's plenty at stake as the Lights and Argos meet on the mat, and tonight is no different. Northern is ranked No. 7 in the NAIA, while the Argos are ranked No. 8.

Both teams bring a plethora of star wrestlers into the dual. Northern is led by All-Americans like Martin Wilkie, ranked No. 5 at 149 pounds, as well as NaKoda Siegel, who is ranked No. 2 at 174 pounds. Austin Vanek is ranked No. 3 at 184, while Carl Hansen is ranked No. 9 at 197 pounds. Devin Crawford is ranked eighth at 165 pounds.

The Argos have plenty of firepower, too.

K.C. Buday is ranked third at 285 pounds, and is a veteran of these rivalry duals. Bridger Hall is ranked fifth for the Argos at 165, while Aden Graves is ranked 14th at 157.

Ranked wrestlers aren't the only stars of the night either. Both teams are loaded with talent, and every single match tonight will be hotly contested, as it always is when the Lights and Argos meet up.

Last year, head coach Tyson Thivierge's Lights split with the Argos, closing last November in Great Falls, but dominating the Argos in February in Billings. And because the rivalry is now always wrestled in Billings in February, the Lights haven't hosted the Argos in Havre since November of 2021. So that means, tonight's atmosphere should be electric.

The dual between the Argos and Lights will get underway at 7 p.m. inside the Armory Gymnasium. Northern and Providence will also meet Feb. 8 in Billings.
