Havre Police Department

A scam was reported at the police station Tuesday at 6:47 a.m.

A Tuesday 9:25 a.m. caller in the west end of Havre reported a woman stole the caller's 2010 Ford Fusion and phone 30 minutes prior.

A 14-year-old was issued a summons on a charge of underage tobacco possession or consumption after a caller at Havre Middle School reported a student with a vape pen.

Jacob Allen Anderson was issued a summons on a vicious dog charge after a Tuesday 5:37 p.m. caller in Havre reported their dog was attacked by another dog that had jumped the fence.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Edwin Vernel Franklin of Havre, 63, was arrested on three Justice or City court warrants served at a U.S. Highway 2 West business Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Montana Highway Patrol

A FedEx truck was reported struck by a train at 8:10 a.m. today about 2 miles east of Kremlin. Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage reported that no one required transport from the scene. The crash is still under investigation, but more details will be published when investigating troopers become available.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical technicians responded to six calls Tuesday, including three responses accompanying firefighters.

Firefighters responded to two calls reporting gas odors, the first at 1:23 p.m. on the 300 block of Ninth Street and the other at 1:48 p.m. on the 300 Block of Fifth Avenue.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm on the 10 Block of Third Street West at 7:39 p.m. No fire was found and the alarm was reset.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held six female cats, three male cats, three 10-week-old kittens and one cat of unknown gender.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held six female mixed-breed dogs, one 6-month-old puppy, nine puppies between 9 and 16 weeks old, and a female German shepherd.
