Obituary - Ronald D 'Napew' Windy Boy Sr.

Ronald D "Napew" Windy Boy Sr., 75, passed away in Great Falls, MT, Sunday, October 8, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Services were held at Croxford Funeral Home October 11, 2023.

Ronald was born February 23, 1948, in Rocky Boy, Montana, to Roger Windy Boy and Rosie Gopher. Upon his high school graduation, Ronald joined the U.S. Army and fought alongside his fellow soldiers in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1969 and received his Purple Heart which he would cherish for years to come.

He moved back to Rocky Boy before moving to Great Falls around 2003, where he would spend the next 20 years.

Ronald was an active member of the Rocky Boy Tribe. He enjoyed attending powpows and dancing. He was a lover of sports, mainly football and basketball. You could often find him enjoying a Warriors or Cowboys game.

Ronald had an ear for good music as well, with the Rolling Stones being his all-time favorite musical group. Most of all, he loved his family and relished in the moments he got to spend with them.

Ronald was preceded in death by his son, Ronald D Windy Boy Jr. "Sonny"; his daughter, Sancha; his sisters Judy, Delma, and Elma; and his brothers Harold, Russell, and Leroy.

He is survived by his daughters, Cary (Louis) and Amber "Sweetie;" his sister Wima; his brothers Andrew, Roger, Arnold, and Raymond; his grandchildren, Mia, Donovan, Andrea, Nizhoni, Cassy, DJ, Windy, and Kunden, Taylor, Mateo, Layla, Coco, Divine, and Thunder, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
