Havre Police Department

Falcon Leigh Meyers of Havre, 28, was arrested on charges of partner or family member assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest after a caller on Third Street asked Thursday at 9:42 a.m. for assistance in a domestic disturbance, removing a family member from the residence.

An 11th Street West caller asked officers at 1:04 p.m. Thursday to check on a man sitting outside crying and officers reported that the man was having a bad day and would contact the officers if he needed anything further.

A caller reported an assault at Sunnyside school Thursday at 3:28 p.m.

A Thursday 6:51 p.m. caller at a First Street West business reported a man with a shank in his boot and officers made a related vehicle stop on First Avenue at 7:06 p.m. and determined that the allegation was unfounded.

Officers were asked at 9:50 p.m. Thursday to provide an escort from a U.S. Highway 2 Northwest business to vehicles in the parking lot.

Drew Allen Torgerson of Havre, 24, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and tail light violation after a vehicle stop on First Street West at 1:25 a.m. today.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

William James Denny of Box Elder, 38, was arrested on a charge of partner or family member assault after two parties in a domestic disturbance on Second Avenue Northwest in Box Elder reported a domestic disturbance Thursday at 7:55 a.m.

Deputies assisted Havre Fire Department at a call on U.S. Highway 2 West at 5:39 p.m.

Melynda Dionne Werk of Hays, 44, was arrested on a state District Court warrant at Hill County Detention Center Thursday at 11:27 p.m.

Emergency medical technicians responded to two calls Thursday.

Firefighters reset a fire alarm on the 100 Block of First Street West at 12:39 p.m. Thursday.

Firefighters, accompanied by an ambulance, responded to a fire at a business on the 3500 Block of U.S. Highway 2 West at 5:39 p.m. Thursday. See page 1 for the full story.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held six 9-week-old kittens, six female cats, three male cats and one cat of unknown gender.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held one 6-month-old puppy, four female dogs, and nine puppies between 9 and 16 weeks old.
