Havre girl still considered missing

Mother said they've made contact

Local law enforcement is still looking for a Havre girl who was reported missing Saturday, despite the girl's mother saying she has been contacted by her daughter.

Elianna Hay, 17, who was last seen Oct. 27 around 9 p.m. was reported missing by her family after not returning home and Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich said Monday that they were still looking for her.

Midday Tuesday, Danelle Hay, Elianna Hay's mother, posted on Facebook saying she had been in contact with her daughter who told her she wasn't going to come home, and this appears to be a runaway situation, not an abduction, thankfully.

After the Havre Daily News asked Matosich about the post, he agreed that it does appear to be a runaway situation but they still need to speak with Elianna Hay, and she is still being considered missing until they can make contact.

A Facebook post by the department asked that anyone with information about her whereabouts contact them at 406-265-4361 or Crimestoppers at 406-265-4444.

A Facebook post from Chippewa Cree Law Enforcement Sunday said Hay is 165 pounds, 5-foot-4 and has straight black hair and brown eyes.

The post says she was wearing jeans and a light-colored hoodie when last seen.
