Havre Police Department

Robert Joseph Sunchild of Havre, 40, was arrested on two Justice or City court warrants served after a Thursday 7:49 a.m. caller asked for assistance removing a man from a Fourth Street residence.

Sheron Faye Saddler of Box Elder, 28, was issued a summons on a charge of theft from coin-operated machines after a caller on 10th Street West reported a theft Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

A vehicle crash was reported on Seventh Avenue at 1:03 p.m. Thursday.

--

Jeffery Scott Sprinkle of Havre, 38, was arrested on a charge of obstructing a peace officer or other public servant after a 5:23 p.m. Thursday caller reported a man was stopping people on 11th Street.

A single-car crash with unknown injuries was reported on the U.S. Highway 2 West hill near Ninth Avenue Northwest at 5:44 p.m. Thursday.

Velores Lynn Walker of Hays, 65, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, no driver's license and headlamp violation and on a Justice or City court warrant after a vehicle stop on Third Avenue at 8:54 p.m. Thursday, which was related to a 9:11 p.m. report of a vehicle crash at a Fifth Avenue business.

Coby John Stump of Havre, 38, was arrested on charges of DUI, refused to test, and reckless driving after a vehicle stop on Fifth Avenue at 12:46 a.m. today.

Hill County Sheriff's Office

Cows were reported on U.S. Highway 87 a half-mile north of Box Elder Thursday at 5:34 p.m.

Montana Highway Patrol

A rollover crash was reported on U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 359 west of Kremlin Thursday at 12:21 p.m. No one with Highway Patrol was made available for comment by print deadline, but Havre Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage said the vehicle was pulling a horse trailer and one person was tended to but refused transport. Havre Fire stayed on scene until a trooper arrived.

Emergency medical technicians responded to four calls Thursday and an additional four calls with a fire crew to vehicle crashes in the area.

Firefighters responded Thursday at 9:41 a.m. to a fire alarm at an apartment on the 800 Block of Fourth Street where burnt food set of the alarm which needed reset.

Firefighters and an ambulance were called to a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 2 West at 12:26 p.m. See MHP above.

Firefighters responded to a vehicle crash at Old Post Road and U.S. Highway 87 Thursday at 5:12 p.m. There were no injuries and firefighters remained on scene until troopers arrived.

Firefighters responded to a vehicle crash reported at 5:42 p.m. Thursday on the U.S. Highway 2 West hill near Ninth Avenue Northwest where a vehicle had slid off the road and down the hill. No injuries were reported, but Havre Fire remained on scene until the vehicle was towed.

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm on the 10 Block of Third Street where burnt food had set off the alarm, which needed reset.

Havre Animal Shelter

This morning the animal shelter held seven 8-week-old kittens, six female cats, three male cats and a male 11-week-old kitten.

Also this morning, the animal shelter held one 6-month-old puppy, five female dogs, 11 puppies between 8 and 24 weeks old, and a male 7-month-old puppy. Additionally, two 17-week-old puppies and one 12-week-old puppy were being housed off-site.

Births

A boy was born Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, to Emily and Brian Siemens of Havre.
