Snow has fallen in Havre and nearly two full months before winter begins as temperatures plummet below freezing after a short few weeks of cool weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory beginning at 6 p.m. tonight and ending at 6 p.m. Wednesday, with a 90 percent chance of snow tonight and 80 percent Wednesday, reducing to 50 percent as the day goes on.
As for snow, the weather service is predicting a 60 percent chance of snow early in the day and 30 percent later in the day, reducing to 20 percent that night.
Friday and Saturday are not predicted to see any snowfall but cloudy skies are predicted to stick around.
Weather Service predicts less than half an inch of accumulation during the day and between 1 and 2 inches overnight, with another 1 to 2 inches Wednesday and possibly another half inch Wednesday night.
Thursday’s accumulation is predicted to be less than an inch.
Temperatures are predicted to remain low and get lower through the week.Today’s high is predicted to be just above freezing, at 36 degrees, with a low of 16 then a high of 24 degrees Wednesday, a number that will continue to gradually drop for the next few days with a predicted 23 degrees Thursday and 22 degrees Friday.
Lows are also predicted to decrease throughout the week with a predicted 9 degrees Wednesday, 6 degrees Thursday and 3 degrees Friday.
Temperatures are predicted to gradually increase between Friday and Halloween, however, with Saturday’s high estimated to be near 23, with a 27 high Sunday and 30 Monday.
Saturday’s low is estimated to be around 7 degrees and Sunday’s is predicted to be around 9 degrees.
Winds from the north are predicted to blow through Thursday, with their source expected to shift to the south west Friday.
Wind speeds are predicted to be between 10 and 14 mph today with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Wind speeds are expected to remain about the same through Wednesday and lower to between 6 and 9 mph that night,
Thursday has 7 mph winds predicted which will rise slightly to 9 mph Friday.
