Organization kicks off yearly fundraising with event
For the first time United Way of Hill County is offering individual tickets to the public for its 8th Annual Crab Boil Saturday, its biggest yearly fundraiser.
United Way of Hill County Executive Director Danielle Golie said they only have a handful of tickets left for the event and it always fills up, and tickets will not be available at the door Saturday.
Normally, Golie said, they fill the event through the purchase of table tickets and their event sponsors, but things will be a bit different this time.
She said this is their big annual fundraiser and will kick off their efforts to raise money for their next year of activity, supporting education, promoting financial stability and providing assistance to those in need.
The event will be held at the 4-H Chuckwagon at the Great Northern Fairgrounds with cocktails starting at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Dinner is an all-you-can-eat king crab, shrimp, kielbasa, corn and seasoned red potatoes.
There will be games, raffles, a live auction, a dessert auction and Vic’s Place will be hosting a cash bar.
Golie said she wanted to thank the event’s sponsors Lewis Heating & Air Conditioning, BenFranklin Crafts and Property West: Havre Real Estate.
“It’s local businesses that keep our community thriving,” she said.
She said tickets for the event can be purchased at https://events.readysetauction.com/unitedwayhillcounty/2023crabboil, where people can also make donations of money or items for the live auction Saturday.
