The Montana State University-Northern Lights had never won at College of Idaho. That trend continued Saturday afternoon.
The Lights lost against the No. 9 College of Idaho 59-0 in Caldwell. Northern tallied 17 yards of total offense (23 passing), while the Yotes accounted for 515, of which 328 yards were in the air.
Northern quarterback Ashton Platt went eight for 22 through the air for 23 yards. Mason Dionne carried the ball 20 times for 11 yards. Dionne also had one catch for eight yards. Caymus Thomas had two catches for seven yards. Lucas Thacker and Braydon each had seven tackles (six solo), one tackle for loss and one sack each. Dylan Wampler added seven tackles and one tackle for loss.
The College of Idaho quarterback Andy Peters completed 14 of 25 passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns. Hunter Gilbert carried the ball five times for 51 yards. Jon Schofield had five catches for 135 yards with two touchdowns. The Yotes defense was led by Willie White with five tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack. The Yotes also had two interceptions.
The Lights fell to 1-5 on the season and 0-5 in Conference. The College of Idaho is 6-1 in the Frontier Conference. Northern hosts Southern Oregon this Saturday at Tilleman Field.
