Havre football dominates on senior night

This past Friday the 13th, the Havre High football team gave a performance that will give Sidney some nightmares for weeks to come. In their final home game of the season, the Blue Ponies dominated in a 39-0 victory over the visiting Eagles.

After a pair of turnovers early in the first quarter, the Ponies took control with a strong drive. The Ponies did find themselves in a fourth and eight at the Sidney 36-yard line. But Griffin Terry was able to find Aiden Moomey for the touchdown to give Havre a 6-0 lead.

After a Sidney punt, the Ponies got right back to work on offense. Terry continued to make plays for the Ponies with his arm and his legs. Once the Ponies reached the Sidney 28-yard line, Terry connected with Tre Gary for a touchdown. The Ponies then converted a two-point attempt to make it a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter.

The Ponies continued to roll when they got the ball back. At the end of another strong drive, Tate Nelson ran the ball for a five-yard touchdown run to extend Havre's lead. The Ponies then ended the half with a field goal from Ty Golie to make it a 25-0 game.

In the second half, the Ponies were focused on running out the clock to win the game. But they still scored two touchdowns in the second half to make the final score, 39-0. With the win, the Ponies improved their record to 5-3 this season.

The HHS football team will finish the regular season with a road game against Lewistown this Friday at 7 p.m.
