Blue Ponies play well at Blocktoberfest

This past weekend, the Havre High volleyball team took a break from its regular season to compete in the Blocktoberfest tournament in Butte. Over the course of the weekend, the Blue Ponies played well as they went 7-3 in the tournament.

The Ponies started the tournament with pool play Friday where they competed in single sets played to 30 points. In pool play, the Ponies showed out as they went 7-1 Friday.

In the opening game of the tournament, Havre defeated Anaconda, 30-18. The Ponies then defeated conference foe Miles City, 30-24. But the Ponies then suffered their first defeat of the day with a 30-19 loss to Hardin.

The Ponies rebounded with a 30-27 win over Dillon and then defeated Livingston, 30-29. The Ponies stayed hot with a 30-24 win over Ronan and then a 30-12 victory over Bigfork. Havre then wrapped up Friday and pool play with a 30-20 win over Stevensville.

With their performance in pool play, the Ponies were set to open Saturday with a three-set match against Frenchtown. However, the Ponies lost, 2-0 (25-21, 25-18), to the Broncs. The Ponies then ended the tournament with a 2-1 (25-15, 29-31, 15-10) loss to the Whitefish Bulldogs.

With the 2023 Block-toberfest now in the books, the Ponies only have a week left of the regular season. The HHS volleyball team will begin the week with a road match against Sidney Friday at 5 p.m.
